SUSAN MAY McLEAN thrives on the vitality and the challenges of the title industry. Although there is always something new, from the parameters of a deal to the regulations that guide them, for Susan, one thing has remained constant throughout her 20+ years in the business: the importance of maintaining the trust and confidence of her clients.

She earned her industry credentials as Chief Business Development Officer and a banker in the collections and non-performing loan departments at Citicorp and the Dime Savings Bank.

As Owner/Client Relationship Manager at Horizon, Susan believes in providing a level of customer service that extends beyond the actual transaction. “I like nothing better than “connecting” people. Throughout the course of the day, or at one of our well-regarded networking events, I will introduce like-minded business individuals, bring to my client’s attention an opportunity that could help grow their real estate portfolio or suggest a resource that might aid in financing. This is not an extra or for-profit service– this is just part of the Horizon business philosophy.”

MARIO LAN joined Horizon Land Services of NY in 2002. He was formerly Counsel at First American Title Insurance Company's New York City branch office.

As an expert at the underwriting and agency levels, Mario brings both a broad perspective and comprehensive approach to his position as In-House Counsel at Horizon. He has authored and presented educational materials on topics including Condominium Law and the applicability of the Hill-Burton Act on real estate transactions involving medical facilities. His "Introduction to Title Insurance" presentation has been offered at several law firms throughout the Metropolitan area.

Mario received a Bachelor's degree from Hunter College and both his Masters and Juris Doctorate degree from New York University. He is also fluent in Spanish.
